We are thrilled to share the success of our recent energy-saving seminar, held on July 17th and 18th 2024, at SMC Automation (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Subang Jaya. In our rapidly evolving world, the integration of smart technologies and sustainable methodologies is no longer a choice but a necessity.
The event was a fantastic opportunity to explore cutting-edge energy-saving solutions and network with industry experts. Our seminar featured two distinguished speakers from SMC Corporation Singapore. Mr. Steven Loke, Marketing Director and Mr. Loo Tze Peng, Application Engineer. Kahoot quiz were prepared and allowed participants to test their understanding and engage directly with the topics discussed.

Application of Software in Teaching
On July 12, 2024, SMC Corporation (Vietnam) successfully organized a seminar with the topic “APPLICATION OF SOFTWARE IN TEACHING” for university and college lecturers in the Northern region. The SIF-400 training system for Industry 4.0 took centre stage, demonstrating its role in shaping the future of education.
We would like to sincerely thank Mr. Sergio Panizo and Mr. Imanol Pérez Del Paloma, the two presenters from SMC Spain, for their insightful and helpful sharing. We also want to express our gratitude to all of the lecturers and our SMC colleagues who helped make this event a success! Hope to continue receive the support and interest of teachers in upcoming programs!
SMC Corporation (Vietnam) and Hung Yen University of Technology and Education (UTEHY)
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) between UTEHY and SMC Corporation (Vietnam) was recently signed. This marks a turning point in the advancement of technical education in Vietnam and the use of technology in the classroom, creating a wealth of new prospects for both instructors and students.
In addition to showcasing the university’s tight relationship with SMC Corporation (Vietnam), this event saw the school’s Robocon teams get sponsorship for a package of pneumatic and automation equipment worth at over 230 million VND. They would greatly benefit from this sponsorship, which would enable them to better prepare for the ABU Robocon 2024 tournament. SMC members also got to see the state-of-the-art practice rooms of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Electrical & Electronics, where a lot of innovative work and research is done.
Last but not least, we would like to sincerely congratulate the SKH AUTOMATION team for their accomplishment at Robocon Vietnam 2024. We hope that the two teams, SKH AUTOMATION and SKH – CK1, will win the trophy at the ABU Robocon 2024, which will be held in Quang Ninh on August 25th of this year.

From Campus to Company: SMC Indonesia welcomed SV IPB and SV UGM for Industrial Visit
In June and July, SMC Indonesia hosted students from Sekolah Vokasi IPB and UGM for industry tours. These students, who are studying in mechanical engineering and industrial management, came to learn about the newest technologies in our field. These includes air management systems, energy-saving and CO2 reduction products, and other practical insights into our company processes.
After learning about SMC’s fundamental business practices, the students demonstrated a strong interest in learning how the company uses business continuity planning (BCP) and responsible business practices to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
They were then given a plant tour, allowing them to see product applications in manufacturing. Many of the students expressed how much this experience had complemented their academic courses, demonstrating their sincere interest.
SMC takes pride in bridging the knowledge gap between academia and industry. We think it’s critical to share experiences and expertise to help students get ready for their professional careers.
